Lovely opportunity to learn about what happened in Dresden in the war. Lots of historical buildings, an opportunity to also see buildings rebuilt after the town was bombed. Beautiful church, well worth a visit, unfortunately the cript was closed on our visit. We explored the painting gallery & sculptures. Some people went clothes shopping but we chose other things to do. We were concerned as we didn’t have euros, it’s fine though as we paid for coffees by card and used the toilets in the cafe as they were free to use. Our guide did say we would probably need euros for ice creams bought from a street vendor, so something to be mindful of.
Prague to Dresden

Tour picked us up at our hotel which made it much more convenient. Pleasant ride from Prague to Dresden with knowledgeable and friendly guide. Very enjoyable walking tour of beautiful old city and just the right amount of on our own time to explore those buildings we were interested in.
A quick tour of Dresden
Robert_B, Feb 2020
A good but brief tour of the city. The old town in Dresden is small and easily walked. However although we had a few hours in the city it was not enough time to visit all the sites we wanted to explore in depth. Our tour guide Katrina was very good and provided a lot of background information.

Dresden is tiny but cute. It’s a two your bus ride, one and a half hour tour and several hours in your own.

The trip to Dresden from Prague is well worth the visit! Our guide, Albert, was very knowledgeable and shared lots of interesting facts about Dresden and WWII. If you are a history buff, you will love this tour! We were a little disappointed that the tour did not include actual admission into any of the sites listed Zwinger Gallery, Opera House, etc., but you have plenty of free time on your own to visit these sites.
Great trip to Dresden!

I loved this trip! Bus picked us up on time from our hotel in Prague. Albert was a funny and very considerate guide. We had a 70-yr-old gentleman with a cane in our group, Albert paced his tour well, very considerate of the gentleman. I loved how we had free time on our own after the 1.5 hr walking tour in the city center, giving us time to shop and eat and take lots of pictures!

Excelent tour, with comfortable mini van. We had driver and guide both. Good value, and Dresden well worth the long trip, especially as it was a very comfortable trip.

We took a recent trip from Praque to Dresden on 06/ 01/ 18. it was a waste of our time and money. The quide was unprofessional and had minimal knowledge of Chech history and culture. Her stories were based on anecdotal stories that had little to do with reality. She also was a very poor historian when we got to Drezden. We had one hour of guided tour after which we were left to wonder on our own. The tour was supposed to be english only, but in reality it was in spanish as well so we had to listen to the same anecdotal stories twice. I dont usually write reviews but i had to share this experience.
We went to other tours while being in prague Krumlov, etc with differrent tour agencies and tour quides. We loved them! But on trip to Dresden we had the least knowledgable tour guide i have ever seen. Avoid this tour operator!

We were picked up at our hotel and the drive to Dresden was 2 hours, during which time the guide gave some commentary. Once we arrived in Dresden there was a 1 hour walking tour where the guide showed us the major sites in old town, and then 4 hours on our own to get lunch, shop, sightsee, and go to the Zwinger art gallery. Overall it was a good trip and worth the cost.

Drive to Dresden was beautiful. Tour was remedial. Guide did not describe much of the buildings we passed by. Her English was not great. Had lots of free time. Had a great German lunch. Not a good tour if you actually want a tour. This was more of transportation back and forth with some free time which we were fine with.

The scenery during the trip to Dresden was amazing. The tour was remedial. We walked by multiple buildings of interest with no comment from the guide. We had multiple hours to ourselves to explore which was nice. Had an amazing German lunch and did a little shopping. I would recommend this tour, but not for the actual tour itself. This tour got us to and from Dresden and gave us time to ourselves to explore if you like that.

It was an ok visit. Bus good, driver good, tour guide nice, but not informative. also drop off point in dresdan is very far from the center - spend too much time getting to/from drop off/pick up point. takes away time from seeing the city and sights.

If you want to take a trip someplace, I recommend this tour. You get bus transport from the hotel to the meeting place, and there you're instructed on where to go. The guide was calm, nice and could occasionally crack a few jokes. Also, I liked how he didn't just talk all the way from Prague to Dresden, but allowed us to just sit back, relax and take the scenery in, because Czech Republic is truly a beautiful country. After that, we got a small guided tour in Dresden, and after that you got to do whatever you wanted. My friend and I visited the gallery, and there we saw Sistine Madonna by Rafael.
Just a small advice, bring with you some cash. Some places don't accept cards just like in Prague, so a few euros in cash is always good to have. Other than that, no qualms whatsoever.

Our tour guide, George, was a wonderful fellow but the tour itself was a bit disappointing. We thought we would be with the tour guide the majority of the we were in Dresden. Instead, George gave us a basic overview of Dresden for about an hour and then we had about 3 and a half hours of free time. We hadn't anticipated this and so we spent some time in a cafe and then went to the Art Museum by ourselves. If you are really into Art then the long drive to Dresden might be worth it as the museum does have some very important pieces. This tour is often used as a shopping trip because the prices of things in Dresden are cheaper than in Prague - so we were told. If you decide to go, remember to bring Euros. We forgot and had a difficult time finding a place to go to the bathroom! They are basically all pay toilets - even in the shopping mall - but finally found a Starbucks that didn't charge you thank goodness! Anyway, if you are not an Art aficionado and not looking to shop, I wouldn't spend a very long day taking this tour.

Overall it was a great trip. We saw all what we needed in Dresden . The guide was knowledgeble , but we didn't like the fact that our bus was combined with Russian speaking tour as well, so we ended up listening the same info twice . Waste of our time.
